How not to get pregnant is a term many women are looking up on the Internet these days. The Internet has a lot of resourceful information for a woman regarding this issue, but you should not believe everything you read online. You need to do your own research and get your information from more than one site. For example, some people still believe breastfeeding is a good way to prevent pregnancy, and this is certainly not true.
Options for How Not to Get Pregnant
There is no birth control for a man, other than condoms. You would think with all of the advancements in science, there would be birth control a man could take that would kill the sperm, but there isn’t. There are, however, many options that are available to women. Many of the options available are adequate for preventing pregnancy, as long as the woman uses it correctly.
Some women swear the Intra Uterine Device (IUD) is good. This is a device that the OB/GYN inserts into the uterus. With this method, you may experience mood swings and some extra bleeding. Pregnancy can happen when you have the Intra Uterine Device, so it is not 100% effective.
How about a female condom? Sure, the female condom is useful, as long as you can figure out how to put it on. When you use a female condom, make sure you fully understand the directions as there is no room for a mistake to be made here.
Some women like the sponge/diaphragm. As long as you are able to insert it properly and get it in the right place, it is effective. During the entire time, some women report worrying that they will not be able to get it out.
What about birth control pills? As long as you are able to remember to take the pills, they are a good option too. However, some women prefer getting the depo provera shot. With the shot you will not have to remember to take your pill. You get a simple shot and you will be good to go. Of course, condoms are another way to prevent pregnancy. Pair condoms with birth control pills and you will be double protected. Just be careful and you should be safe.
